Bruce Weber’s documentary about Chet Baker, the brilliant and one of a kind trumpet player, is conveyed through an astonishing miasma of poetic imagery and jazz. The documentary combines photography & old footage to portray a romantic, handsome, and brilliant young Chet at the height of his career, with an older, down trodden, and ultimately trampled spirit of Chet, the artist disillusioned and destroyed by his genius.
